4 Stars Good exercises
I like the exercises on this video. The lady that leads them is a little weird, though. Sometimes it sounds like she isn’t sure what she’s talking about. I would have liked to have seen ahead of time that I would need certain equipment in order to participate in all the workouts, like a strength band, a medicine ball, what size weights, etc. Over all, though, it’s a really good work out.
5 Stars Rated as a Top prental DVD for a reason
I really enjoyed this DVD. Out of all of the prenatal DVDs I have used, this one demonstrated the most thorough understanding of the physiological needs and demands of a woman in all phases of pregnancy. The exercises are challenging enough, yet I really felt safe. My highest recommendation.

5 Stars Great overall pregnancy workout!
I ordered these DVDs near the end of my 1st trimester. I am a long time gym junkie, but I wanted a workout that would keep me in shape throughout my pregnancy without being too strenuous. So many of the DVDs I saw were yoga only, and I knew I wanted some aerobics and weight lifting, too. These DVDs give you all of it! Plus, there is great variety of workouts to keep you motivated. 2 aerobic/weight lifting workouts & 1 yoga workout per DVD. Also, you get a DVD for after baby. Lindsay is not always in perfect form and the set/recording is not the best I’ve seen, BUT she works every part of your body so that you know you’re getting a great workout. If you like interval training (aerobics w/weight training) or are looking for more than just yoga - this is the workout for you!
5 Stars Great DVDS
I purchased this set when I was 6 weeks along in my second pregnancy. I used them every morning thoughout my pregnancy. I liked that I wasn’t doing the same routine every day for 9 months. The change each Trimester was nice and kept me motivated. The only thing I would have liked to have been different is that it would have been nice to have had a mother-to-be in each workout following along with Lindsay.
5 Stars Great variety
I loved this set of workout DVDs. There is a lot of variety, and the exercises are appropriate for all stages of your pregnancy and for the post partum stages of getting back into shape. The workouts are to the point, and you accomplish a lot in a minimal amount of time. The variety helps prevent boredom. Highly recommend to any busy mom or mom-to-be.
1 Star Wouldn’t recommend
I exercise on a daily basis and had been working out using the FIRM DVDs for quite some time. I purchased the set once I found out I was expecting. I really did not enjoy the format. The instructor annoyed me. I haven’t used the DVD set because of the format and instructor.
4 Stars Good workout for women who work
I order this series of 4 videos at the very beginning of my second trimeseter and did the first trimester video for a week or two and liked it very much. It gets you moving but not so much that you are winded or exhausted after ward. I have moved onto the second trimester video and I like that as well. When I come home from work, I’m tired and the thought of excercising is the last thing on my mind, but when I remind myself that the video is only 25 minutes it gives me the extra motivation to pop it in and work out. I wind up doing the full 25 minutes of yoga afterward too and I feel more energized after doing both. It gives me a second wind. The only thing I dont like about the video is she tends to move a bit quickly for me, but I wasnt in terrific shape when I started the series. Thats the other thing I like, that I jumped into doing the videos after a VERY lazy first trimester and it wasnt difficult at all. I like Lindsay, she is cute but not overly so and she is dressed like I am at home - in comfortable workout gear - not cropped sportsbra and shorts which would just remind me that I am not going to have a flat tummy for some time! The images of the pregnant women doing the workout are a bit tiny for me and I’d like to see her doing the workout side by

PreNatal Yoga PostNatal Yoga 2 Pack with Shiva Rea

PreNatal: The best thing about this prenatal yoga dvd is that there is a model for each trimester. Instructor Shiva Rea demonstrates each of the stretches and exercises for the first trimester, and two pregnant women show modifications for the second and third trimesters (they’re even dressed in different colors for easy reference). This removes the self-doubt home-exercisers often have about the safety of certain moves–especially in that cumbersome final stage of pregnancy. Using gentle voice-over instruction, Shea and her assistants take viewers through a half hour of meditational stretches using blocks and chairs for support. She follows that up with 16 minutes of floor work: lunge pose, bridge pose, child’s pose, plank pose–all with the necessary adjustments. She winds things up with a four-minute guided relaxation on her back–the traditional position–with the second-trimester woman on her side and the third on her side with one leg up on a chair. By including the different adaptations, Shea has made a tape with the flexibility to carry an expectant mom through her entire pregnancy–and beyond, if she wishes.

Healthy Mom Happy Baby Prenatal Yoga

The evidence is clear - when you exercise regularly and gently during your pregnancy, you help yourself and your baby. Babies born to exercising mothers are healthier, experience fewer fetal complications during labor, and may even receive neurobehavioral benefits as a result of their mom s exercise regime while they are in utero.
Yoga is regarded as the ideal form of exercise for pregnant women a perfect way to meet the 30 minutes of exercise prescribed by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).
Healthy Mom, Happy Baby is a gentle prenatal yoga practice designed for all three trimesters of your pregnancy. This video will help you:
- strengthen and build stamina in the muscles used during childbirth;
- learn meditation techniques to help you access deep relaxation a tool you can use to replenish yourself between contractions;
- learn breathing and visualization strategies to release tension and manage pain during labor;
- increase your confidence and trust in the innate wisdom of your body;
- connect with your changing body and your growing baby;
- enjoy uninterrupted time to explore your emotions as you make the transition to motherhood.
Healthy Mom, Happy Baby is suitable for women in all stages of their pregnancy. You can do the entire practice or you can create your own shorter practice by selecting one or more of the exercise series listed below from the DVD menu.
Prenatal Yoga includes:
1. Warm-up
2. Arm strengthening
3. Standing Series I and II

5 Stars This is a great dvd even for those not pregnant!
I love this workout. In fact, I am going to order a copy of the DVD. I originally downloaded it from an exercise site but I want to have my own hard copy. I am not pregnant. I have no children (I wish). However, I am in my mid 30’s and wanted to incorporate yoga into my exercise routine. I’ve tried so many yoga DVD’s (too long, too hard, too complicated, too easy) but when I saw a preview of this dvd on youtube, I knew it was for me even though I wasn’t pregnant. I like to do workouts that can be done through all phases of life. For example, what I do at 35, I want to keep doing at 75. If in fact I am blessed with a pregnancy, I will not have to change my routine of Leslie Sansone walking and this yoga DVD. My flexibility has improved, I have a stronger core and I love the breath work to help relieve stress. Instead of focusing on a baby living inside of me, I focus on Jesus and the Holy Spirit instead. I am not interested in being a pretzel or performing amazing flexibility poses but I want to be strong and healthy.
5 Stars Excellent pre-natal yoga practice!
I have been practicing yoga for 5 years and found it difficult to keep up with my regular ashtanga routine when I was pregnant. Andrea’s Fitmom yoga vibe video allowed me to not only keep in shape while pregnant, but also physically and mentally ready for the birth of my second child. Also, the interview and Q&A session with Dr. Cram (OBGYN) helped answer some of my questions (yes, even as I second time mom, I had questions) and eased the anxiety of my upcoming birth. Thank you!

Prenatal Yoga

The DVDs are particularly designed to educate and empower a woman during the pregnancy period. As a therapist at the Stanford University Hospital, I witnessed injuries when Aerobic exercises were taught in lieu of Yoga Asanas Unlike other Yoga DVDs, the Yoga program in these DVDs specifically emphasizes the difference between Yoga Asanas and Aerobic exercises - which is conscious stretching with effort. Yoga program consist of (a) Asanas; (b) voluntarily controlled and guided various breathing practices; (c) relaxation; and (d) meditation. Unlike Aerobics, the Asanas are postural patterns that begin in a state of total relaxation, then blossom and unfold slowly and naturally in a continuous motion until they return, once again, to a state of total relaxation. When Yoga Asanas are performed merely as poses or postures, the real physiological benefits inherent in the Asanas are lost. Practice of yoga is ideal for a woman in her childbearing years as it non-strenuous and promotes restoration, relaxation and rejuvenation. The Yoga for prenatal program integrates my experience as a back school instructor at Stanford, and shows the importance of natural spinal alignment with illustration of spine during the practice. Yoga culture is ageless and provides variety of Asanas. A woman should commit in the wellness of her body and mind by regularly practicing the Asanas during all stages of life. The Yoga program in the DVDs is designed to practice mostly the same Asana in supine, sitting or standing positions during different stages of pregnancy. It offers a safe pace that is within the limit of physiological changes during pregnancy. The program shows why, and how, one should always be aware of the alignment of the spine while initiating, maintaining and releasing an Asana. It is necessary to continue daily Yoga practice anywhere, any time and any place, including during their traveling. Hence, an accordion booklet is provided, along with the DVD, to continue daily practice without any hiatus. Diligent practice of Yoga cultivates habit of good posture and delays diseases and old age. Pregnancy postural changes occur due to the forward shift in the center of the gravity and hormonal secretion. Practicing Yoga on a regular basis helps to cultivate a habit of maintaining upper, middle and lower back in a natural alignment during daily chores, household activities and in leisure activities. Learning and maintaining a good posture is the key point from early childhood, especially during pregnancy, motherhood and during the rest of one’s life. An efficient posture is comprised of a minimum amount of voluntary effort and a minimum amount of expenditure of energy for its maintenance and adjustment. Good postural habits protect joints from strain and conserves unnecessary use of energy by the musculature. The habit can easily be cultivated by regular practice of Yoga Asanas and correct breathing. Breathing is a powerful tool to practice to maintain harmonious and balanced emotional state. Yoga breathing improves oxygenation of circulating blood and optimal utilization of available oxygen. Guided breathing releases accumulated physical and emotional stress. Regular practice of various Yoga breathing renders alertness and decreases tiredness and fatigue. It decreases tiredness that is caused due to irregularities of sleeping during later stages of pregnancy. And last but not least, the Yoga program in these DVDs is designed to guide a pregnant woman to be her own teacher. It teaches how to tailor the program as per one’s own specific needs. A made to suit Yoga program will help women to integrate the program in their daily routine and through out their lives.
