5 Stars Great overall pregnancy workout!
I ordered these DVDs near the end of my 1st trimester. I am a long time gym junkie, but I wanted a workout that would keep me in shape throughout my pregnancy without being too strenuous. So many of the DVDs I saw were yoga only, and I knew I wanted some aerobics and weight lifting, too. These DVDs give you all of it! Plus, there is great variety of workouts to keep you motivated. 2 aerobic/weight lifting workouts & 1 yoga workout per DVD. Also, you get a DVD for after baby. Lindsay is not always in perfect form and the set/recording is not the best I’ve seen, BUT she works every part of your body so that you know you’re getting a great workout. If you like interval training (aerobics w/weight training) or are looking for more than just yoga - this is the workout for you!
5 Stars Great DVDS
I purchased this set when I was 6 weeks along in my second pregnancy. I used them every morning thoughout my pregnancy. I liked that I wasn’t doing the same routine every day for 9 months. The change each Trimester was nice and kept me motivated. The only thing I would have liked to have been different is that it would have been nice to have had a mother-to-be in each workout following along with Lindsay.
5 Stars Great variety
I loved this set of workout DVDs. There is a lot of variety, and the exercises are appropriate for all stages of your pregnancy and for the post partum stages of getting back into shape. The workouts are to the point, and you accomplish a lot in a minimal amount of time. The variety helps prevent boredom. Highly recommend to any busy mom or mom-to-be.
1 Star Wouldn’t recommend
I exercise on a daily basis and had been working out using the FIRM DVDs for quite some time. I purchased the set once I found out I was expecting. I really did not enjoy the format. The instructor annoyed me. I haven’t used the DVD set because of the format and instructor.
4 Stars Good workout for women who work
I order this series of 4 videos at the very beginning of my second trimeseter and did the first trimester video for a week or two and liked it very much. It gets you moving but not so much that you are winded or exhausted after ward. I have moved onto the second trimester video and I like that as well. When I come home from work, I’m tired and the thought of excercising is the last thing on my mind, but when I remind myself that the video is only 25 minutes it gives me the extra motivation to pop it in and work out. I wind up doing the full 25 minutes of yoga afterward too and I feel more energized after doing both. It gives me a second wind. The only thing I dont like about the video is she tends to move a bit quickly for me, but I wasnt in terrific shape when I started the series. Thats the other thing I like, that I jumped into doing the videos after a VERY lazy first trimester and it wasnt difficult at all. I like Lindsay, she is cute but not overly so and she is dressed like I am at home - in comfortable workout gear - not cropped sportsbra and shorts which would just remind me that I am not going to have a flat tummy for some time! The images of the pregnant women doing the workout are a bit tiny for me and I’d like to see her doing the workout side by

User Ratings and Reviews
5 Stars Easy to follow, effective workout
An excellent workout that I used throughout my pregnancy, up to two days before delivery. As other reviewers have explained, it is broken into several sections so you can do as much or as little as you like. Very easy follow I am aware that FitMama has been criticised for being repetitive - this was a bonus for me as my brain went AWOL during pregnancy. A safe, enjoyable workout that produced a light sweat and I didn’t have to think too much about it!
4 Stars Fast Moving
The DVD itself is great. I like that it is broken up into parts so you don’t have to do the whole thing at once. It’s very challenging and fast moving. The yoga music could be a little better. I was very disappointed on the delivery time which took over two weeks.
3 Stars A Bit Too Bubbly and Repetitive for A Tired Pregnant Mom
If you are a frequent user of (non-pregnancy) workout videos, then this may be right up your alley - Leisa Hart’s bubbly voice, the perky music, and the general workout flow seem like cookie-cutter exercise video material to me. Unfortunately for me, I found the style to be terribly grating, and not at all comfortable. Yes, I worked up a sweat doing exercises that were probably “baby-safe,” but I just couldn’t get excited about popping this in the DVD player and working out…it seemed like more of a chore than a joy. On the other hand, The Perfect Pregnancy Workout vol. 1 was my absolute favorite, and a complete contrast to “Fit Mama.” Karyne is a former Cirque Du Soleil acrobat, but I could completely follow her gentle workout, and I found her music, voice, and workout flow to be much more calming and enjoyable. It really is a matter of preference - are you looking for a peppy cheerleader to push you through your workout, or are you looking for a soothing way to build strength and tone while pregnant?
5 Stars Fun exercises
This is a good pregnancy video especially if you are not overly athletic. It is not overly challenging, but it includes the Salsa, Yoga and stretches. The instructor seems very knowledgable and is very positive and encouraging. It’s fun to do the Salsa and I look forward to it. The yoga is very repetitive, but it’s sort of nice because this way you do not have to think a lot about what you are doing. It does work out the hips and legs very well. It also includes labor preparation exercies and stretches. It is divided into 4 different sections with the exercises, so you can easily pick and choose which ones you want to do. It also includes an instructional section. I was not aware of this when I bought it, but it includes 2 dvds. The second one is for after you have the baby. I’m 7 months pregnant, I do this twice a week and combine it with The Perfect Pregnancy Workout and I feel great. Good luck with your pregnancy!
3 Stars Fun but repetitive
I’m going to have to agree with the good and bad reviews. I haven’t been working out, so the fact that it is pretty easy is a GOOD thing for me. It would be hard to workout to only this dvd for the duration of my pregnancy since it is SO repetitive. Especially the “fat burning yoga”. I really enjoy the salsa portion and I don’t find her annoying at all. The dvd also has an option with no narration for those who do find her annoying!

5 Stars Fun Workout
I have been using this video during my entire 2nd trimester and I love it. It offers two different workouts depending on my mood and energy level. I do the salsa dance workout on days when I am not as energized and need a fun workout to motivate me, and I do the yoga fat-burn when I have energy and want a little more of a challenge. I also love the labor and delivery prep and the stetching sections of the workout. They are to-the-point so I can get on with my day and still feel stretched and relaxed. I would recommend this for someone who wants a comfortable, effective workout during their pregnancy. In fact, I feel that my muscles have more tone than before I got pregnant, and I’ve never felt like I was pushing it too hard during this workout. A great buy!
5 Stars Leisa Hart’s Fit Mama: Prenatal Workout
I’m pregnant with my first child and didn’t know what kind of workouts to do. I picked this DVD and it has been great. The instructor is very knowledgeable about what exercise is good during pregnancy.
5 Stars FitMama workout fun and easy to do
I borrowed this DVD from a friend last pregnancy and liked it so much I’ve bought my own for the current pregnancy. Leisa Hart is an enjoyable exercise “coach.” She’s not hyper or ultra-chipper like some other hosts. The video is actually fun. The salsa dance is my favorite– just fun moves and you’re actually exercising. I would be remiss not to note that Leisa Hart is disgustingly thin for 9 months pregnant, but forgive her for that. There is one token “average/chubby” pregnant mom working out with her on the video, so take heart! If you aren’t bothered by a yin yang symbol on t-shirts and a few “eastern” movements, that’s about as “new age” as this video gets, (which was important to me). I highly recommend this particular exercise video.
4 Stars Good if you’re looking for easy
If you are used to working out, this video may be too easy for you. It is nice to have on days when you don’t feel much like exercising though.

Prenatal Bellydance

Originating in ancient dances and rituals related to family, life cycle and childbirth, bellydance is based on movements that come naturally to the female body. Some bellydance movements mimic natural intuitive motions associated with pregnancy and childbirth, others have been traditionally used to move the baby into the best position or relieve the discomfort of labor.
This unique dance/workout program has been designed to be safe and effective for pregnancy and follows the guidelines of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists.
Organic, flowing, energizing movement of bellydance helps to improve abdominal control and awareness, relieve aches and discomfort associated with pregnancy, avoid swelling and cramping and prevent excessive weight gain. Bellydance hip movements will tone the muscles of your pelvic floor, whose strength is all-important for the birth, as well as for your postnatal recovery.
And, beyond all these benefits, it offers a fantastic motivation to stay beautiful and graceful throughout the pregnancy - in touch with your inner goddess!
The program consists of 6 SECTIONS: WATER: Warmup and stretches; slow, meditative section; opens by building dance Combination 1 EARTH: Movements focused on the abdomen and lower body; medium-paced rhythmic section; the section culminates in building dance Combination 2 AIR: Upper body movements; medium-paced rhythmic section, introducing Combination 3 FIRE: Travel steps; medium-to-fast-paced dance section; in this section we build and practice Combination 4 DANCE: Slow-to-medium-paced section: we put together Combinations 1, 2, 3 & 4 into a graceful flowing dance; LIGHT: Cooldown, slow, meditative section
Remember, each body type and each pregnancy is diffferent. You may want to ask your doctor or midwife to view this DVD first, if she or he is not familiar with this form of dance/exercise.

5 Stars Love it!
If you are looking for a quick, easy, but interesting workout this one is for you. I love doing this dvd! The movements are completely natural all while working muscle groups that are really hard to work during pregnancy (all those ab areas). My heart rate gets up without going crazy and my body feels release from a lot of pressure. The traveling steps take a bit of getting use to, but within a few weeks of doing the dvd you’ll keep up just fine. This was my first time doing bellydancing, and I will definately be sticking with it after the baby comes. It is my favorite pregnancy workout.
4 Stars Not your typical pregnancy workout
This is a nice addition to my pregnancy workout collection. I have some previous experience with bellydance workouts (Neena & Veena) and I agree with some of the others that the segment on hip movements goes by rather fast and is not broken down well. Other than that it is well done, and it doesn’t require any special equipment or costuming other than comfortable clothing to do the exercises. I do wish they would expound on the benefits of bellydance for pregnant women in preparation for birth and labor (loosening of the hips and pelvis, etc), but maybe that’s a whole other DVD.
4 Stars Prenatal Belly Dancing Is Fun
This video is a bit interesting to keep up with if you’ve never belly danced before, but it is so much fun that you won’t mind. If you are looking for an alternative type of exercise while pregnant, this is definately it. Not only did I find it fun, but also a nice even keel work out. Not too fast, not too slow, but just enough to break a sweat. Perfect for those of us who live in cooler climates but want to exercise throughout our entire pregnancies without freezing. I’ll give it a 4 out of 5 star, only because of the difficulty of some of the hand/body movements for belly dancing beginners. But I definately wouldn’t let that stop you from purchasing this. Lots of fun!
5 Stars Prenatal Bellydance - Trailer
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RT7Y63C6APGMX
2 Stars There are better options out there.
I have been doing bellydance for exercise for several years and love it. It seemed like a natural way to exercise during pregnancy, being relatively gentle and a great way to keep up abdominal tone and also relieve hip and joint pain. The first half of the video is fine, but once it moves to the floor movements, the dancing becomes too complicated and does not have enough instruction to support it. Instead, I turned to the Neena/Veena prenatal bellydance video and LOVE it!

I’m pregnant with my first child and didn’t know what kind of workouts to do. I picked this DVD and it has been great. The instructor is very knowledgeable about what exercise is good during pregnancy.
