5 Stars Relaxing and easy!
I bought this prenatal DVD for my second pregnancy. It is very relaxing and easy to do. My toddler likes to do it with me and she enjoys it just as much! The routines are quick and the instructor gives ample explanation. I will be looking for other DVDs by “Yoga to Go” after the baby.

5 Stars My favourite of the pre-natal DVD’s
This is my favorite prenatal yoga DVD (I have bought many!). I keep pretty fit (light running, walking, light weights etc.) and this DVD compliments the regime perfectly. I always feel like I’ve actually had a workout afterwards. This is my second pregnancy and the half hour sessions are better now that I have a demanding toddler. I alternate between the 3 different sessions (the 2nd trimester is great for my back) and so never get bored.

I’ve seen comments about poor production - I note I am more interested in the actual workout than production. For example, Shiva Rea’s DVD, while it is well-produced, drives me mad as it is too easy and slow.

Other DVD’s I like are Dr. Christine Anderson’s Dynamic Prenatal Yoga DVD (longer, was great for my first pregnancy … again production not great) and the Perfect Pregnancy Workout (love this one).

2 Stars I’d get a different video
The production quality on this DVD is horrible. It sounds like something I could make in my backyard. This I would overlook if it was an outstanding yoga workout. But in the second trimester, some of the moves involve moving from a flat, lying position to a backbend like move very quickly, and it makes me dizzy every single time. I doubt I am the only pregnant lady this would happen to. I am a beginning yogist, but not completely inept. I liked having three workouts tailored by trimester, and the rest of the moves were good, but I wish I had purchased a different DVD.

5 Stars Wonderful pregnancy yoga series
This is a wonderful prenatal yoga video series. Includes the three dvds - 45 min first trimester, 35 min second trimester, 37 min third trimester. Very nice having three separate videos so you don’t get bored with one routine. Great stretching & strengthening coordinating the breath, helps you to feel lengthened and calmer by the end. Not too intense so you are able to complete each tape even through the nauseous and tired months. Very relaxing and natural settings.

You do not have to have prior yoga experience to enjoy these videos. Sara talks you through each movement. The videos focus on yoga postures with breath-coordinated movement (for those who are familiar with yoga, its similar to moderately intense vinyasa yoga style) rather than a yoga approach that jumps from one posture to the next (hatha yoga).

I have three other prenatal yoga & workout videos (Shiva Rea, Erin O’Brien, Tracey Mallett), Sara’s is the one I prefer the most.

Prenatal Kundalini Yoga with April Bernardi Pregnancy

Prenatal Kundalini Yoga with April Bernardi Pregnancy

PRENATAL KUNDALINI YOGA WITH APRIL BERNARDI

More and more studies continue to show the correlation between stress and anxiety and the negative effects they may on a fetus making meditation so beneficial during pregnancy. Let April ‘Nirankar’ Bernardi guide you in this Pre-Natal Kundalini Yoga DVD. Here you will discover a new way of connecting to your baby and preparing for your miracle to arrive. By bringing the practice of Kundalini Yoga into your life, you are bringing a sense of overall balance and well-being to body, mind and spirit, which is then passed on to your baby. This type of yoga helps in opening your hips, increasing circulation, relieving tension from your lower spine and more. It helps you learn to focus your energy and breath, creating a sense of calm. This focus will also help during the delivery of your baby and beyond. Prenatal Kundalini yoga provides the same benefits while also increasing blood flow to the unborn baby and preparing the pregnant woman’s body and mind for labor. These exercises are accompanied by original music including repetitive chants and lyrics, which allow the pregnant woman to fall into a meditative state.

5 Stars better than I thought
I got it because of the price and I would have paid twice this much If I knew it was so good. I am leaving a review because I almost didn’t buy it because it had no reviews. Very good DVD.

4 Stars pretty good
Hi all, this video is pretty good and the asanas are excellent for us gals that are oh-so-swelling with life. Easy on the sensitive areas, doesnt uncomfortably squish baby or bladder, and provides some much needed relaxation and stretching. I have a feeling this is a valuable tool in my labor and delivery aresenal, as I feel the exercises really do open up the hips and help get the baby in proper birthing position. Try it, especially if you don’t mind a little chanting with your yoga!

5 Stars Outstanding
Wonderful, effective, very easy to follow. April Bernardi and her 35 week pregnant student demonstrate a series of fantastic yoga movements that relax and energise. Great for easing discomfort, making room for your baby and preparing for delivery. Like all yoga the breath is at the centre to the practice and Kundalini yoga always involves a fair amount of chanting that might not be everyones cup of tea. The slightly bland production values may annoy some but personally I prefer a well planned workout to a stunning backdrop. The exercise sequence is about 35 minutes long, just right for me as I have a busy toddler to look after. Great for all stages of pregnancy.

2 Stars not so pleased
I was really looking forward to this DVD and then it came in the mail. The main yoga instructor is not pregnant so for me personally that made it a little less appealing and then the whole thing is shot on a ugly set in front of a brick wall. Not very soothing scenery at all. I have no comment on the exercises as I haven’t even tried them yet. I just didn’t want to sit in front of a screen watching a such an ugly set for an hour.

4 Stars Great DVD!
I’m so glad I got this DVD for my wife. It has helped here in so many ways. I’m not sure what the other reviewer was talking about, but it definitely has been good for her. I’d highly recommend it to anyone on bedrest or not. I’ve bought quite a few DVDs from this company and have been satisfied with everyone. They have really good instructional dvds. Thanks!

5 Stars Great DVD!
I DONT EXERCISE ALL THAT MUCH. just the ocassional walk. but i knew that my labor would be easier if i did. so i thought i’d try this. and i love it! it really stretches and works out my muscles (though it doesnt seem so at the time).also i’m usually a very light sleeper, but after i started using this i noticed i slept better and deeper. i highly recommend “Simple Yoga For Pregnancy” for anyone who, like me, doesnt exercise much or who has never really done yoga.

1 Star A bit too simple!
If you have ever done yoga before, this DVD is not for you. The poses are very simple and will definitely not raise your heart rate. It may be good for those women who are on bedrest.

With the exception of the relaxation portion of the program, there was very little to no background music.

5 Stars gentle yet effective
This is very gentle yoga that anyone can do during the pregnancy. It gives me a better posture, uplifts my mood and relaxes me. You will probably hate it if you like working hard, sweating or having sore muscles the day after. But if you are looking for relief in your pregnant body, you will love it.

5 Stars CONFUSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have read some REALLY good reviews about this DVD series, so I am excited to order… but, I’m deffinately NOT going to order from here! What is up with the price of the DVD???????????????? I did just a little bit of research and found it for just 11.99 on one website, then 16.99 on another!!!! what is going on here??? there must be some mistake!

5 Stars Despite the cover - this is a great DVD…
I had been doing various kundalini yoga DVDs by Ana Brett and Ravi Singh and loved them. When I needed to switch to something designed for prenatal yoga, it was discouraging that there aren’t many prenatal kundalini yoga DVDs. I bought two - and this is by far my favorite. My only complaint is that it is an hour long, and I wish there was an easy way to break it up (like the matrix option the Ana and Ravi DVDs have). Overall though - I love it!

5 Stars great pregnancy yoga
I am currently 33 weeks along and have been using this DVD for the last two months or so. In the last couple of weeks, I have been using it every day. It is very relaxing and effective, and I have not suffered any lower back pain at all since using this dvd. I found the keep-up exercise very challenging at first, but it’s become much easier and it really does help me focus on my breathing and relaxing through the challenge. Anna might not explain how every single posture is beneficial to the pregnant body but they are all postures that I have seen in either pregnancy books or in other DVDs that are meant to facilitate pregnancy and/or childbirth.

5 Stars Wonderful DVD!!
I used this DVD through my entire pregnancy and as a way to get back into exercise post-partum. I credit it with opening my joints, keeping my body stretched, and teaching me how to get to that place of focus that is oh-so-necessary during birth. I had an extremely long homebirth (and eventual hospital transfer) but I still managed to have a natural childbirth because of the focus and sheer strength I had gained from a regular yoga practice.

4 Stars very relaxing
i only used this video a fe wtimes whne i was pregnant because well i just was kind of lazy and tired alot after working, also being very overweight it was hard to get on the floor some days. but when i did watch it, it was very relaxing, especially the music. i was thinking of starting to use it again because i have a bad back and it would probably be at the right pace for me. Some things i couldnt do because i wasnt flexible enough and haven’t done much yoga prior, but then i would just continue with my breathing instead.

4 Stars Great!
This video is great. It encompasses exercises specifically for pregnant women, but also exercises to keep your body toned that are appropriate during pregnancy.

5 Stars Highly recommended
I really enjoy this DVD. I’ve been doing Pilates for quite a few years now, and this DVD is refreshing. I’ve been waking up sore lately and these

exercises have been making me feel better. The stretching and exercises are so relaxing, yet you still feel like you’re working out. My legs are actually firm and fit. This DVD really helps me relax myself and my muscles. I look forward to doing this every time.

4 Stars Great Beginner Workout
I am really glad that I ordered this dvd. I have never done any pilates before this. I was very pleased with the way she was really clear in her instructions. It’s easy to understand and follow. I wasn’t very active before my pregnancy, due to a surgery, but I can keep up with it and I truly do have more energy afterwards. I recommend this product, especially to anyone who has never done pilates before…you’ll enjoy it.

4 Stars Great moves to Combat Pregnancy Pains
I bought two pregancy videos—this one and The Perfect Pregnancy Workout. Perfect Pregancy is my main stay because I feel like it really works me out. This one is much more low key and easier to do, and I do this video about once or twice a week. I like it because I feel like it has good moves to help my back and hips to not hurt. Negatives are that it’s not difficult enough for it to be my everyday workout. It has modifications for your third trimester. I’ve never done Pilates before, but I found it pretty easy to pick up. You need a small ball, a dowel (which I took apart my broom and used the stick portion), and 2-3 pound weights. Good video but better as a secondary workout.

2 Stars Let’s just say I won’t be doing it again.
This DVD is not awful, but I certainly won’t be doing it again. I agree with the other reviewers that it was boring, and not a great workout. I hardly even feel stretched out, much less worked out. The arm sequence was probably my favorite, but even that was both boring and too short.

Finally, she asks those of us in our third trimester to watch “Cassie and I” (not the real name). No - it’s Cassie and ME. The bad grammar was actually really distracting. Maybe it’s just because I’m hormonal, but it drove me nuts.

4 Stars Love this before bed during 3rd trimester
This is my favorite of three prenatal yoga dvds. I started it at around 34 weeks, as a yoga novice. I appreciate that it’s “doable” — she gives modifications of all the poses based on trimester, and I can do the entire workout without hurting myself. Her voice, the outdoor scenery, and the music are quite peaceful and relaxing. Also, the narration is not hokey; there are videos of her sonogram, and she often asks you to think of your baby.

If you are expecting a hardcore workout, you will be disappointed. This video is all about stretching and relaxing — I love doing it before bed at night. I find it a good complement to cardio workouts at the gym, and I count it as relaxation practice for my Bradley childbirth classes.

The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I don’t like the series of seated chair poses; they don’t feel good to me and seem to stretch the wrong muscles in the wrong way. I substitute a few other poses during that part. Otherwise, I really love this video.

1 Star Bad quality
I bought this dvd after reading the reviews of other pregnant women, and I was waiting something really nice. When the DVD arrived and I saw the first minutes of the workout I felt really dissapointed.

It is an amateur video, with a camera put in the middle of a park (?) and a lady trying to do some yoga. The image has a really bad quality and there is no selection of scenes.

It is really an amateur video of a couple: the husband holds the camera and his wife does the exercises.

Avoid it.

5 Stars Perfect!
This yoga video was absolutely perfect during my pregnancy. I had one other pregnancy video but the bouncing around of the aerobics was extremely uncomfortable. After all, that’s a lot of fluid and extra weight to be bouncing around! “Yoga for Pregnancy” was a smooth workout that stretched my sore muscles and helped my body feel invigorated. The instructor had a soothing, reassuring voice, which helped me relax and get in tune with my body.

I carried my baby really high which lead to extreme shortness of breath. I never felt like I could get a full breath in. This video helped me to use the capacity of my lungs and to take in deep, full breaths. It’s amazing what energy can come from deep breathing!

Pregnancy can be so hard on a body. This video was one of the only things I did that provided relief and made me feel better. I highly recommend it!

4 Stars mom2be
This yoga workout is very gentle and relaxing. If you’re looking for a good workout that makes you sweat, this is not for you! However, if you want something relaxing and easy with some labor preparation then you should check this out.

5 Stars Amazing prenatal yoga DVD!
I love this DVD! The poses are terrific-suitable for all trimesters and for REAL women. I don’t feel like I’m endangering my baby. A wonderful workout that makes you feel energized, relaxed, calm, and more centered. The music is lovely and the scenery is peaceful. I feel like she’s trying to help me, not kill me! Highly recommended.

I am not one of those pregnant moms who thinks that I need to burn it all off now or never. I wanted something that would be a gentle, but slightly challenging workout for someone like me. I found it here. I feel more prepared for labor, and more relaxed. It has helped tremendously with my sciatica. I feel more energized and like I’m not so short of breath. I found this DVD very enjoyable!
