5 Stars This is a great dvd even for those not pregnant!
I love this workout. In fact, I am going to order a copy of the DVD. I originally downloaded it from an exercise site but I want to have my own hard copy. I am not pregnant. I have no children (I wish). However, I am in my mid 30’s and wanted to incorporate yoga into my exercise routine. I’ve tried so many yoga DVD’s (too long, too hard, too complicated, too easy) but when I saw a preview of this dvd on youtube, I knew it was for me even though I wasn’t pregnant. I like to do workouts that can be done through all phases of life. For example, what I do at 35, I want to keep doing at 75. If in fact I am blessed with a pregnancy, I will not have to change my routine of Leslie Sansone walking and this yoga DVD. My flexibility has improved, I have a stronger core and I love the breath work to help relieve stress. Instead of focusing on a baby living inside of me, I focus on Jesus and the Holy Spirit instead. I am not interested in being a pretzel or performing amazing flexibility poses but I want to be strong and healthy.

5 Stars Excellent pre-natal yoga practice!
I have been practicing yoga for 5 years and found it difficult to keep up with my regular ashtanga routine when I was pregnant. Andrea’s Fitmom yoga vibe video allowed me to not only keep in shape while pregnant, but also physically and mentally ready for the birth of my second child. Also, the interview and Q&A session with Dr. Cram (OBGYN) helped answer some of my questions (yes, even as I second time mom, I had questions) and eased the anxiety of my upcoming birth. Thank you!

5 Stars great for partners!
My husband is a lovely affectionate sort of person, but had virtually no instincts about how to make a person in pain feel better. Rocki’s video was perfect for us- it gave him concrete, hands-on suggestions, with easy to follow instructions. She suggested things I wouldn’t have thought of, or been able to explain half as well. It was highly recommended to me, and I am delighted with it. Better than birthing class!

4 Stars Good material, but short
This isn’t so much as a workout video as it is an instructional video. This is really a guide for how to accomplish workouts. I think there is decent material in this video for methods that can be used for easing the labor process, but I think that the video is a bit short. In fact, I see no reason that Volume 2 and 3 could not be on the same disc. For that reason, I can’t give this a higher rating. If this disc had been arranged in such a way that workout parts could be accomplished, then it would be fully worth it, but noting that all it does is explain the various positions and does not go through as a “workout video”, it falls short of its purpose.

5 Stars Fantastic!
I’ve told every one of my pregnant friends to get this DVD–it was SO helpful for my delivery. It really helped me focus on what worked for me and what didn’t. After practicing the positions, we knew when labor started that I liked this pose and not that one. When I started to freak out during labor, my hubby helped bring me back by suggesting a position. I love that it gets your husband involved in the labor process. (He has more to do that just hand you ice chips and say “good job!”) My husband really got into the exercises–he said it made him feel more of a partner than an assistant. Invaluable!

5 Stars Better than a Lamaze class
I got this DVD because I love Rocki’s Prenatal Yoga routine so much. I’m really glad I did. She has a ton of information about how movement and breathing affect the baby during labor and ways to get more comfortable. I’ve actually gotten my husband to do this with me and as corny as it sounds, it’s really given us some time to get closer. He now knows what I like and want during labor and I think we’ll work better together as a team. Thanks, Rocki.

5 Stars Unbelievably helpful!
We’d taken a Bradley class with my first baby and it didn’t do much for me. I got this for my second and what a huge difference! I used so many things she teaches on the DVD-breathing, different poses, movement. The last hour before I started pushing was me moving my hips with my husband massaging my back-and I’m convinced that’s why it only took 2 pushes for my son to be born. Rocki really seems to know alot about childbirth and her techniques helped me immeasurably. Great DVD. (I feel the same way about the next one in the series-Labor Prep 3.)

5 Stars Husband loved this
My husband and I are very pleased with this volume as well as Labor Prep Vol 2 and Rocki’s Prenatal Yoga Vol 1. We wanted a non-medicated birth with our first child and this video helped both of us prepare for that as confidentally as we could. My husband especially liked how involved and hands on he could be. I loved the relaxation technigues and poses.

1 Star I don’t know how the dvd is- it never arrived
I don’t know how the dvd is- it never arrivedand dvdmagnets refused to refund me the money… beware!

5 Stars Great additon to my pregnancy collection
Great for any expectant mother and her labor coach (whether husband, relative, doula, or other close friend) . Not an “exercise” DVD in the sense of physical workouts, but instead is poses and practice techniques to use in labor and birth, especially if you have a goal for a natural birth. My hubby and I will be using this weekly during my final trimester as we gear up for the birth of our second son. I like Rocki’s straight forward manner, clear demonstrations, and her explanation of the purpose for each one.

4 Stars Decent…but short.
I think my review of this video is the same as Volume 2. I think the material in this video is good, as it does a really good job as an “instructional” video, but it is not a “workout” video. Additionally, seeing as it does not go through the paces of doing the typical workout, but only goes through the instructional parts of it, then it makes this video extremely short. I find this odd because volume 1 is really fast paced, and does not give you much time to be instructed, but of course on volume 1, once you pick it up, it becomes a good paced workout video. However, volume 2 and 3 should really be on the same disk due to the short running times. Again, the material is really good, but it needs more material on the media

5 Stars Great information!

4 Stars Love this before bed during 3rd trimester
This is my favorite of three prenatal yoga dvds. I started it at around 34 weeks, as a yoga novice. I appreciate that it’s “doable” — she gives modifications of all the poses based on trimester, and I can do the entire workout without hurting myself. Her voice, the outdoor scenery, and the music are quite peaceful and relaxing. Also, the narration is not hokey; there are videos of her sonogram, and she often asks you to think of your baby.

If you are expecting a hardcore workout, you will be disappointed. This video is all about stretching and relaxing — I love doing it before bed at night. I find it a good complement to cardio workouts at the gym, and I count it as relaxation practice for my Bradley childbirth classes.

The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I don’t like the series of seated chair poses; they don’t feel good to me and seem to stretch the wrong muscles in the wrong way. I substitute a few other poses during that part. Otherwise, I really love this video.

1 Star Bad quality
I bought this dvd after reading the reviews of other pregnant women, and I was waiting something really nice. When the DVD arrived and I saw the first minutes of the workout I felt really dissapointed.

It is an amateur video, with a camera put in the middle of a park (?) and a lady trying to do some yoga. The image has a really bad quality and there is no selection of scenes.

It is really an amateur video of a couple: the husband holds the camera and his wife does the exercises.

Avoid it.

5 Stars Perfect!
This yoga video was absolutely perfect during my pregnancy. I had one other pregnancy video but the bouncing around of the aerobics was extremely uncomfortable. After all, that’s a lot of fluid and extra weight to be bouncing around! “Yoga for Pregnancy” was a smooth workout that stretched my sore muscles and helped my body feel invigorated. The instructor had a soothing, reassuring voice, which helped me relax and get in tune with my body.

I carried my baby really high which lead to extreme shortness of breath. I never felt like I could get a full breath in. This video helped me to use the capacity of my lungs and to take in deep, full breaths. It’s amazing what energy can come from deep breathing!

Pregnancy can be so hard on a body. This video was one of the only things I did that provided relief and made me feel better. I highly recommend it!

4 Stars mom2be
This yoga workout is very gentle and relaxing. If you’re looking for a good workout that makes you sweat, this is not for you! However, if you want something relaxing and easy with some labor preparation then you should check this out.

5 Stars Amazing prenatal yoga DVD!
I love this DVD! The poses are terrific-suitable for all trimesters and for REAL women. I don’t feel like I’m endangering my baby. A wonderful workout that makes you feel energized, relaxed, calm, and more centered. The music is lovely and the scenery is peaceful. I feel like she’s trying to help me, not kill me! Highly recommended.

I am not one of those pregnant moms who thinks that I need to burn it all off now or never. I wanted something that would be a gentle, but slightly challenging workout for someone like me. I found it here. I feel more prepared for labor, and more relaxed. It has helped tremendously with my sciatica. I feel more energized and like I’m not so short of breath. I found this DVD very enjoyable!

5 Stars Great Workout
This is a great yoga workout, especially for someone who regularly does yoga. It has a good pace. I found a lot of prenatal workouts to be too slow and boring. The best part is that you can choose the length of the workout.

3 Stars Lunges get boring after a while
This yoga dvd is fine a few times, but the repetition of so many lunges is boring after a few workouts. I would have liked a bit more variety. I own both her pre-natal yoga dvds and my comment would be the same for the other one as well.

5 Stars Best Prenatal Fitness Video I’ve Found So Far
I’ve been trying a lot of prenatal fitness videos lately, and I haven’t been all that impressed. My husband bought me this one for Christmas and it is head and shoulders above the other videos I’ve tried. Granted, it’s not the same as taking a class in person, but that’s not much of an option for me as a second-time mom, and I found Jennifer Wolfe’s approach to prenatal yoga to be fairly unique compared to other videos.

The modifications she’s made to create a vinyasa that will work in pregnancy feel very fluid to me (e.g., moving the thumbs together in downward-facing dog to allow room for a leg to come forward around a big belly). I tried some more strenuous yoga with my first pregnancy and found it too much for me, but this time around, with this video, I feel challenged but strong, especially in my arms and upper body. I’m also still experiencing the late 1st trimester exhaustion and was worried this would just leave me more tired; on the contrary, I left the practice feeling energized. My 3.5-year-old loved it, too. She did the 15-minute practice with me and then asked to do it again when we were done!

I love that I can choose to do a 15-, 30- or 45-minute practice. This really works well while I try to fit in exercise and keep up with a preschooler.

There were a couple of movements that tweaked some pains I have in my lower abdominal muscles/ligaments, but I just backed off and did a slightly less deep version of the stretch. I’ve never found a video that fit my body perfectly, pregnant or not, so I’ve become accustomed to modifying as my body directs me to.

5 Stars Pregnant and Happy!
I too was looking for a yoga video that would be challenging as I was previously doing Bikram yoga until I was pregnant. The video isn’t as challenging as Bikram yoga (for obvious reasons), however it gets my heart rate high enough to experience a real workout.

Another great thing with this dvd is the option for various timed workouts allowing you to fit it in to a busy schedule, however the 45min workout is the best.

4 Stars Good Vinyasa yoga workout
This yoga practice is very good if you’re looking for a more challenging yoga workout. If you practiced yoga before you got pregnant and are looking for a more difficult workout you will be more satisfied with this than many other pregnancy yoga workouts. It moves at a good pace. The 15, 30, and 45 minutes practices are all a little different which gives a nice variety so you don’t get bored doing the same thing every time. It’s also nice to be able to choose which one you want based on the time you have available.

5 Stars Great DVD
It is a great workout video! She is an encouragment to all women and her teaching style is great.

5 Stars So far, been liking it a lot!
The back exercises are really too short to be problematic… all in all, seems like a wholesome workout, and she’s clear and easy to follow. Thanks!

5 Stars 10 minute solution: prenatal pilates
This is a great dvd at a great price. I like that you can customize your workout by choosing which 10 minute sessions you want to do and in what order.

5 Stars A great workout for pregnant moms
I am 28 weeks pregnant and have been using this dvd for the past two weeks. I am new to pilates and I have to say so far it’s been great. The instructor is easy to follow, she gives good tips for modification, slowly adds difficulty to the exercises, and seems very natural. Yes, there are short segments on your back, but all the while you are moving, (tilted abs, spinal twists and precursor to bridges, which by the way, the latter two, you do in regular prenatal yoga class). The instructor herself is 36 weeks pregnant and I doubt she would put herself at risk either. I love the option to mix and match your workout or do as much as your busy schedule allows. Over all, great buy, I would definitely recommend it to stay in shape and would give it to my friends for use.

5 Stars Just what I was looking for!
I love this video. Before I bought this one I had tried 3 other prenatal workout vidoes and none of them relly left me feeling like I had done much for my body once I was done with them. I actually broke out in a sweat with this one and felt more energized afterwards. The individual 10 min. workouts, makes it really convenient to start a stop when I need to. I would highly recommend this video to moms who want to stay in great shape and feel good while pregnant!

3 Stars IT’S OK FOR BEGINNERS
I am trying some pregnancy DVD workouts (26 weeks right now), but to be honest I expected more from this one, I didn’t sweat at all, I liked the upper body routine though. I Tried Kathy Smith’s DVDs before this one and I really liked that one better, but just to have some variety on my workout I think is ok.

5 Stars Love Her Tone
As a pre-natal instructor, I really enjoyed this video not only for it’s overall content and ease of use, but I really enjoyed Valerie’s tone. She is very real and motivating which I find refreshing.

3 Stars OK workout tape
This video is ok. It drags a bit between circuits and is not the challenge I thought it would be. If you’re used to working out and doing aerobic type of exercise, it’s not for you.
