4 Stars Good exercises
I like the exercises on this video. The lady that leads them is a little weird, though. Sometimes it sounds like she isn’t sure what she’s talking about. I would have liked to have seen ahead of time that I would need certain equipment in order to participate in all the workouts, like a strength band, a medicine ball, what size weights, etc. Over all, though, it’s a really good work out.
5 Stars Rated as a Top prental DVD for a reason
I really enjoyed this DVD. Out of all of the prenatal DVDs I have used, this one demonstrated the most thorough understanding of the physiological needs and demands of a woman in all phases of pregnancy. The exercises are challenging enough, yet I really felt safe. My highest recommendation.

5 Stars Easy to follow, effective workout
An excellent workout that I used throughout my pregnancy, up to two days before delivery. As other reviewers have explained, it is broken into several sections so you can do as much or as little as you like. Very easy follow I am aware that FitMama has been criticised for being repetitive - this was a bonus for me as my brain went AWOL during pregnancy. A safe, enjoyable workout that produced a light sweat and I didn’t have to think too much about it!
5 Stars Fun exercises
This is a good pregnancy video especially if you are not overly athletic. It is not overly challenging, but it includes the Salsa, Yoga and stretches. The instructor seems very knowledgable and is very positive and encouraging. It’s fun to do the Salsa and I look forward to it. The yoga is very repetitive, but it’s sort of nice because this way you do not have to think a lot about what you are doing. It does work out the hips and legs very well. It also includes labor preparation exercies and stretches. It is divided into 4 different sections with the exercises, so you can easily pick and choose which ones you want to do. It also includes an instructional section. I was not aware of this when I bought it, but it includes 2 dvds. The second one is for after you have the baby. I’m 7 months pregnant, I do this twice a week and combine it with The Perfect Pregnancy Workout and I feel great. Good luck with your pregnancy!
4 Stars Fast Moving
The DVD itself is great. I like that it is broken up into parts so you don’t have to do the whole thing at once. It’s very challenging and fast moving. The yoga music could be a little better. I was very disappointed on the delivery time which took over two weeks.
3 Stars Fun but repetitive
I’m going to have to agree with the good and bad reviews. I haven’t been working out, so the fact that it is pretty easy is a GOOD thing for me. It would be hard to workout to only this dvd for the duration of my pregnancy since it is SO repetitive. Especially the “fat burning yoga”. I really enjoy the salsa portion and I don’t find her annoying at all. The dvd also has an option with no narration for those who do find her annoying!
3 Stars A Bit Too Bubbly and Repetitive for A Tired Pregnant Mom
If you are a frequent user of (non-pregnancy) workout videos, then this may be right up your alley - Leisa Hart’s bubbly voice, the perky music, and the general workout flow seem like cookie-cutter exercise video material to me. Unfortunately for me, I found the style to be terribly grating, and not at all comfortable. Yes, I worked up a sweat doing exercises that were probably “baby-safe,” but I just couldn’t get excited about popping this in the DVD player and working out…it seemed like more of a chore than a joy. On the other hand, The Perfect Pregnancy Workout vol. 1 was my absolute favorite, and a complete contrast to “Fit Mama.” Karyne is a former Cirque Du Soleil acrobat, but I could completely follow her gentle workout, and I found her music, voice, and workout flow to be much more calming and enjoyable. It really is a matter of preference - are you looking for a peppy cheerleader to push you through your workout, or are you looking for a soothing way to build strength and tone while pregnant?

4 Stars Great!
This video is great. It encompasses exercises specifically for pregnant women, but also exercises to keep your body toned that are appropriate during pregnancy.
5 Stars Highly recommended
I really enjoy this DVD. I’ve been doing Pilates for quite a few years now, and this DVD is refreshing. I’ve been waking up sore lately and these
exercises have been making me feel better. The stretching and exercises are so relaxing, yet you still feel like you’re working out. My legs are actually firm and fit. This DVD really helps me relax myself and my muscles. I look forward to doing this every time.
4 Stars Great Beginner Workout
I am really glad that I ordered this dvd. I have never done any pilates before this. I was very pleased with the way she was really clear in her instructions. It’s easy to understand and follow. I wasn’t very active before my pregnancy, due to a surgery, but I can keep up with it and I truly do have more energy afterwards. I recommend this product, especially to anyone who has never done pilates before…you’ll enjoy it.
4 Stars Great moves to Combat Pregnancy Pains
I bought two pregancy videos—this one and The Perfect Pregnancy Workout. Perfect Pregancy is my main stay because I feel like it really works me out. This one is much more low key and easier to do, and I do this video about once or twice a week. I like it because I feel like it has good moves to help my back and hips to not hurt. Negatives are that it’s not difficult enough for it to be my everyday workout. It has modifications for your third trimester. I’ve never done Pilates before, but I found it pretty easy to pick up. You need a small ball, a dowel (which I took apart my broom and used the stick portion), and 2-3 pound weights. Good video but better as a secondary workout.
2 Stars Let’s just say I won’t be doing it again.
This DVD is not awful, but I certainly won’t be doing it again. I agree with the other reviewers that it was boring, and not a great workout. I hardly even feel stretched out, much less worked out. The arm sequence was probably my favorite, but even that was both boring and too short.
Finally, she asks those of us in our third trimester to watch “Cassie and I” (not the real name). No - it’s Cassie and ME. The bad grammar was actually really distracting. Maybe it’s just because I’m hormonal, but it drove me nuts.

5 Stars I can’t help it, I love Denise Austin
Denise Austin is perpetually spunky and happy and cute. I actually caught myself SMILING throughout the whole DVD because she was telling me to. Most of the pregnancy fitness DVDs on the market are about calming down and relaxing… yoga, etc. It’s nice to actually stand up and do some cardio.
The level of exercise is DEFINITELY moderate, but you can increase it or decrease it depending on the size of the movements you make.
I appreciate that the routines are somewhat easier than normal DVDs - and my pregnancy brain appreciates that, too. I also enjoy that there is a weight-training section.
I’d say buy it! Especially for that price.
5 Stars Great Video
I love this video. It is great for firming and toning while pregnant and can be used in addition to a moderate exercise routine.
4 Stars Great work out for all stages of pregnacy
You will use this video! I like it because it is low impact so I do it on the days I’m feeling tired too. It’s a great all over work out that will make you feel refreshed and energized.
3 Stars OK
The video is pretty good. I have a couple others that give me a much better work out. It was inexpensive and I would buy again.
5 Stars GREAT workout for pregnancy!!
I LOVE this video! The workout is not to hard, but it will definately get your heart pumping. Its not to long either, so theres no getting bored or worn out before you complete it. I have recommended this to all my pregnant friends!

5 Stars Awesome…
Very useful product, it held me fit through my entire pregnancy and helped me with managing pain during my delivery. Very useful!!!
2 Stars First Time Mom in WI
These yoga DVDs are terrible. It reminded me of the birthing classes that you may see on some old sitcom. I was hoping for more relaxation and less instruction. (I admit to never watching the full set. I watched part of the first and second DVD.) The instructor gives you different positions to use and gives your coach instruction in how to prevent massage fatigue (use his elbow instead of his hand), but the class is so boring that it is hard to get through. Also, when you are actually in labor, you tell your husband to do what makes you feel better. You don’t think to yourself, “Gee I saw in a video once that rubbing my lower back will help the ache in my back.” Save your money. You can find better, more relaxing videos out there.

5 Stars Easy for beginners
I really enjoy this workout. I didn’t workout with my daughter and didn’t lose the baby fat, so I thought this time I’d give it a try. I’ve never done Yoga or Salsa dancing and I’ve picked up on it just fine. They are actually quite fun. I have not tried the Postnatal workout yet because I’m only 5 mon pregnant, so I’ll have to get back to you on it.
5 Stars EXCELLENT !!!
I bought this for my wife so she could exercise during the pregnancy and it turned out to be and excellent daily exercising trainer…

User Ratings and Reviews
1 Star Boring and short
Boy was I disappointed with this DVD. It is barely 20 minutes and is not much of a workout no matter what trimester you are in. If you never worked out before your pregnancy then this might be good for you, but if you worked out regularly don’t even bother with this one. It is just some stretching & neither of the women are even pregnant. I will not use this DVD as a regular part of my prenatal workout routine.
2 Stars Nearly useless
I bought this DVD on spec, hoping it would be a good DVD to follow. I was disappointed.
Negative points:
- The women in the video aren’t pregnant. It actually made me wonder about the quality of the moves presented.
- It was quite fast in the instructions given. They were voiced over and there was no close-up of the positions to help guide you along.
- It claims to have a beginner and intermediate level program, but the difference between the two is so slight I would really call it false advertising.
- As others said, not much of a workout. I stretched my back out nicely, but that’s about it.
Positive points:
+ Was 20 minutes long, which is what I wanted. I wanted something short and snappy. Unfortunately the contents didn’t live up to it.
I wouldn’t recommend it.
3 Stars Ok, but not enough on its own
So, I did the prenatal portion of this dvd this morning. Other reviewers are correct - it is not a great workout. It IS a pretty good stretch. 20 minutes long, the two women go through a series of poses and moves (some of which feel more like yoga than pilates) to help loosen you up and (supposedly) strengthen your core.
Would I like it better if the women were actually pregnant? ABSOLUTELY! I found it a bit annoying to be 7 months pregnant, big bellied, and following these skinny women. One woman was doing beginner modifications, the other did more intermediate moves.
It was not challenging, and I followed it by doing Crunch: YogaMama, but I think I could have used it as a good stretch before or after doing some cardio, too. And, there are some days when 20 minutes might be just right.
So, I would say, it is an ok dvd, but not enough of a workout to really stand alone.
2 Stars pregnantchik
I wish I did my homework and read the reviews in this DVD before I bought it! I’m not even in the best of shape, but have been doing yoga for years, and found this DVD way to easy. If anything, it is a good DVD for those days when even getting in 20 minutes of light stretching is a success!
1 Star Awful!
This appears to be a very low budget, poorly produced workout dvd.
The workout itself is sooooo slow and boring, and I don’t think most active, pregnant women would get much benefit from it.
It is probably best suited for someone who has little or no workout history and is just looking for some stretching.

5 Stars beautiful and sensual
this dvd is beautiful,I already love veena and neena, its lovely that neena made this video,it makes me feel so soothed and calmed.a brilliant companion for us pregnant mums, made me feel very calm and sensual.
theres an interview at the end too with a doula, its brilliant xx
5 Stars Just what I was looking for!
This workout is really lovely–a good level of activity and toning exercises, but fun and sensual. I first tried the prenatal bellydance video with Naia and was really wishing that there was a Neena/Veena video instead. The Naia video was harder to follow, with not enough instruction and more complicated floor moves. I have been doing Neena/Veena videos for years and love them. I was so happy to find this video and I exercise to it frequently, in addition to yoga and cardio such as walking and elliptical.
